| Coincidence or God Event? |

You decide! Have you ever been in the middle of something and thought WOW what a coincidence? I say that most of the time, however on this event, I truly believe it was a God event. Let me set the story by sharing something I am very proud of that my team and I do each year. In our budget we set aside money for different charities throughout the year to give to, but we also give a scholarship each year at Ezell Harding Christian School. Our mission is to find young ladies that are in need of money to assist them with their college education. Each student must complete an application and write an essay explaining why they deserve the money. My team and I review the applications and essays and then make our decision. We do not notify the recipient, so that we may honor her on the day of Ezell Harding’s senior awards ceremony. We do this each year expecting nothing in return. 2008 was no different than years past. We received a few applications and all the ladies were very deserving, however one really stood out in our mind. She had lost her mother at a very young age and had been shifted and passed from relatives and friends until she made it to Tennessee where she was taken in by her aunt. Her grandfather helped to pay for her school tuition and she was able to attend EHCS. Her senior year her aunt became very sick and could no longer work and the student was faced with having to move and would lose the ability to attend EHCS. Fortunately for the student she had another aunt who was willing to step in and purchase the home she was sharing with her aunt who was ill so she could live there until she graduated. This young lady had been through so much in the past, and her aunt wanted to make sure she was able to graduate from EHCS with her friends rather than having to change schools in the middle of her senior year. Fast forward four months! I received a call to list a condo in the Percy Priest area so I did, without knowing that this story would have a magical ending! I receive an offer on the property in January and in talking to the seller she explained to me that she just wanted to move the property because it had served it's purpose, which was for her niece to live there long enough to graduate from Ezell Harding. I told her my son went to Ezell and we really loved the school. She proceeded to tell me her niece had lost her mother at a very young age, which was this lady’s sister. She said that her family had felt so blessed to be able to care for their niece and get her through a great school. While she talked, it hit me that I knew exactly who her niece was. I asked for her niece's name and sure enough it was the young lady I had given my scholarship too just a few short months earlier. As we shared some tears together, she proceeded to share that she is a true believer in angels! I asked her how she found me to list her house. She said many people had referred her to other Realtors, and she even had a friend in the business, but something took her to a Real Estate book where she found my picture and she selected me! She never put two and two together, and didn't know I was the one who gave her niece the money she needed for her a portion of college tuition! What a blessing this event and story have been to me and my team! Blessings to you~ |
