Smyrna Schools are part of the Rutherford County School System. The Rutherford County School System is adding about 1,500 students annually, which translates into 1-2 new schools needed each year.

Schools planned for the next 10 years in Rutherford County include: 10 elementary schools, six middle schools, three high schools and several additions to existing schools.
